Canada is the second country of the world by its size. Because of its climate, nearly 90% of its surface remains without permanent dwelling. Majority of the 31,6 million people who constitute the whole Canadian population live in strongly urbanized area in the south of the country and which are located at less than 300 km of the American border.
Canada is one of the largest industrialized countries that's why it belongs to G8. It is recognized that the future prosperity of Canada will depend on a working force having a high educational level. Nowadays, 70% of the new jobs of the country will require postsecondary studies.
In Canada, as in many countries in the world, postsecondary education moves constantly. In the whole country, systems change and evolve as the governments and the authorities of education identify new priorities and develop new strategies in order to meet teaching needs. The rate of participation in postsecondary education in Canada is one of the highest in the world.
This report presents an outline of the postsecondary education systems in Canada.
In a first time, we will describe the Canadian higher education system; this is the main part of this report.
Then, we will see how we can study in Canada when we are foreign student, that is to say what kind of steps must we take etc. To finish, we will talk about difference between French and Canadian system.
