After the end of the Second World War, US emerged as the first economic super power. Despite of the tragic events that the US encountered, it still remains as one of the leading economies in twenty first century. During the time between the 1980s-1990s, the country redefined its capitalism to maintain its economic hold over the world.

It leads some economists to speak about the disappearance of the American middle class. Today, the economic stability is reinforced by the structural changes. The employment is greatly represented in the services which is a sector were the demand is not too versatile. Furthermore the new efficient management is reducing the risks of overproduction. Unlike the traditional industries, the hi-tech industry is characterised by the outputs increase. [...]

The American entrepreneurship is leading the economic world and the USA are still having their image of economic Eldorado for the young entrepreneurs. In the 80s a risk-taking culture appeared in the USA that helped the development of the small businesses. There is in the country a cult and a huge respect for the entrepreneurs. Some years ago, Bill Gates Microsoft's founder was considering as one of the most powerful man of the world but also as a star. [...]

Today, the “brick and mortar” companies are becoming “click and mortar” companies by their adaptation to the new ways of communication. It seems that a new kind of management reshaped the capitalism in the 90s but the living conditions of the workers are sluggish. In fact, the “American way of life” is not what it was in the 60s.
