The 27 of April 2005, at 10h29 the A380 plane has taken off for the first time of the airport of Toulouse. The A380 property of AIRBUS, company which conceives, develops, builds, sells and ensures the technical support after sale of the planes of the same name. On the other side of the Atlantic, BOEING, the famous competitor of AIRBUS, company founded in 1916. Boeing became in 20 years the largest manufacture of planes. However, today both companies are devoted to a remote war; one supported by the European government, and the other supported by the US government. Thus, it could be interesting to know what the nature of this conflict between the both planes manufacturers is. In a first part the two companies will be presented, and then in the second part the origin of the conflict and how the conflict could evolve and become an international war between Europe and America will be explained.
[...] A combat of Titans, which Airbus leaves for the victorious moment with already 159 orders for its giant plane, whereas it is operational only in 2006. The blows marketing Airbus and Boeing do not compete only on the ground of the records of innovation, but also of the exploits marketing. November Boeing indeed beat the record of the world of the longest non-stop flight, realized with its 777-200 LR Worldliner, and connecting Hong-Kong to London of 23 hours and more than km. [...]
[...] Boeing develops a policy indeed very different from that of Airbus. For the American, the future of aviation lies on the aircraft of small sizes, able to go very far, without stopover. The firm thus decided to launch in 2006 777-200 LR, an apparatus of 300 places having a very great autonomy, and the 787 "Dreamliner", new length mail of the mark, which counts only 250 places. Airbus does not intend for all that to give up its place of leader on the small carriers: the airframe manufacturer launched its new A350, without very awaiting the subsidies. [...]
[...] Immediately the EU deposited, it also felt sorry for against Washington for the assistances to Boeing by and seeks it financed by Defense or NASA. At the beginning of 2005 procedure with the WTO was suspended so that Boeing and Airbus can find a compromise. And today Boeing and Airbus are always in the search of a compromise but not only for them but an agreement of subsidies for all the companies of constructions of planes of the world. Conclusion In my view the two companies did not finish surprising us with their performances and their innovations. [...]
[...] With blows of complaints deposited in front of WTO, the United States and the European Union hold up the excesses made by the other: 15 billion dollars of advances refundable garnered by Airbus since the entry into force of the bilateral agreement of 1992 or the 23 billion indirect subsidies financed by NASA and the Pentagon for the account of Boeing Who wants what? The objective of Europeans is to avoid a long and expensive arbitration near the world Organization of trade. That could thus harm the transatlantic relations. It is noticed that it is not Boeing and Airbus which reinforce but the United States and the European Union. What has the WTO to make and why? The goal of WTO is to improve the international trade, to solve commercial problems and to remove economic barriers. [...]
[...] Any reason thus for WTO to intervene. What happened and when? It is not a first: the Americans constantly showed Airbus to be supported by the four states at the origin of the project, Germany, Spain, France and Great Britain. Opposite, Airbus always asserted that Boeing received indirect assistances, tax in particular, on behalf of the United States. When Airbus was founded they received subsidies of several European countries to help them to start their activities and to be able to compete with Boeing. [...]
