Conditions of access to maternity wards in the city of Recife

In order to answer the question "how to build the experience of motherhood in popular urban community in Recife? we rely particularly on the contributions of two authors: the theory of social experience by Dubet, and sociology of the generation by Luc Boltanski. These theoretical approaches are articulated with three dimensions: a temporal dimension, which highlights not only the historical context in which the experiment takes place, but especially the diachronic nature of the experience itself; and a relational dimension, which highlights not only on the relationship between mother and child, but also those that grow with various groups or networks that are created around the child and mother. Thus our research protocol takes a new turn to break away without losing much of what is the theoretical basis of our research itself. Why is the issue of space needed for us to understand the experience of motherhood in the women of a city's working-class?

[...] It does not seem to involve major issues of ethical self as a practice for researchers to access diverse terrain. By cons discussion on lying as a strategy implemented by researchers are often relegated to isolated comments, lost in texts broader and broader as a single experienced researchers in their investigation, could never be a real problem within the method in sociology. However, my experience as a young researcher I have proven repeatedly that this difficulty to manage the truth and the lie was shared by many young colleagues and that his treatment is often limited to casual conversations in the context of current methodological between teachers and students. [...] On one hand I'm dealt with aspects of my work I thought to leave later as the search for bibliographic data and statistics. I discovered how to prepare women for change of status - of woman-mother was not only very medicalised but very guarded: for of births in the city took place in hospitals or clinics, only 38 women gave birth at home. Medical supervision of maternity is also found in the number of antenatal consultations conducted by pregnant women: 50% of women who gave birth during 2004 were more than seven antenatal clinics and only 12% have less than three ( 7).
