French culture is well recognized all over the world and people often travel from very far away to learn about it. After reading several studies about French culture I had the honor of being invited to share one of their most important ceremonies, 'the Thursday night student party'. The aim of this ritual is to reach a state of mind which enables someone to get rid of his/her inhibitions and reinforce friendship...
[...] While the night went on, TFT looked happier and some of the teenagers were already in sort of a trance. It is like if mind and body were not in symbiosis anymore. The subject seemed away, its body was making unpredictable sexy moves (as one of the female guests told me, speaking about one of a male proceeding to a dance). It is really interesting to observe effects provoked by this substance according to genders. Males' attention and conversation are focused on females and begins a sort of competition among them. [...] Once everybody seated, they start drinking the contents of those strange dark green bottles. There are many ways of drinking it: slowly talking with one of the other guests or by playing ‘drinking games'. Those games are coming from ancient obscure traditions, and people are not very sure when and where they were invented. As I could underline, one of the most famous is called ‘Caps'. Two or more guests sit on the floor, place the bottle between each other legs, uncap the bottle and place the capsule side up on the top of the bottle. [...]

[...] The ceremony comes to an end when tall and big guardians announce that the ritual is over. It was time for me to go home with a better knowledge of this tribe and of the vast variety of the human kind. In conclusion, it is hard to understand how TFT manages to proceed to this ritual every week for several years, and succeed to stop when they start a family. Further inquiries have to be made on the transition between the TFT stage and the AFT (Adult French Tribe). [...]
