This notion deals with the geographical and symbolic spaces that all societies occupy, and also the interactions between people and different societies. The different spaces of the world are nowadays more and more connected to each other. So, crossing the borders has become easier and faster thanks to the development of means of transport. And new modes of exchange are emerging like doing a gap year. [...]

[...] To conclude, I think a gap year is living an amazing year with amazing people and discover wonderful things that you will see and live once in your life. Of course, there are also disadvantages but no more than anything or travel. And then, there are so many advantages that catch up, that we quickly forget these drawbacks because finally, at the end of the year you will come back grown up, with a totally enriched culture and unforgettable memories. [...] Indeed, doing a gap year has a price and not least because it's very expensive and it's often done with the money of parents so that young people do not necessarily realize the value of the money and the luck they have to be able to achieve this year abroad. Furthermore, some students think that a gap year is a holiday and spend their time on beaches. They forget that they are voluntary workers and that they are here to help people in difficulty. [...]

[...] Going to a foreign country allows you to learn a new language quickly because you have to face having to speak it every day. You also learn and discover new customs, new landscapes, lifestyles, meet new people and participate to new activities. A gap year is also a personal trip that can help to learn to know yourself. It also allows you to become more mature, responsible and resourceful because you have to look for a job to earn money and then learn how to manage your budget or learn how to manage to get a phone plan for example.
