[...] What if overpopulation leads us to grow animals underground as well? Unfortunately, to me, prospects for the future in this area are bleak. On top of that, even if it is quite useful to make nowadays' agriculture evolve and use new technologies to produce locally - and thus reduce the carbon footprint - another element, which is not mentioned but which is going to be crucial in the future, is the solidarity which has to be enhanced between people. However, even if verticality may be a way to solve the problem of space and let more space for people to live, the experience has proved to be both expensive and not always more sustainable, because it requires much electricity (whose prices have recently skyrocketed) and it does not necessarily pollute less than traditional agriculture. On the whole, the three documents convey the positive idea that skilled and innovative scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs are doing their best in order to tackle the problem of sustainability as far as food is concerned.
