INTRO I will deal with the notion of spaces and exchanges and will be interested in
globalization which is the increase of trade around the world, especially by large companies
producing and trading goods in many different countries. It is directly related to this notion
since exchanges appear nowadays in many different forms such as money, poeple, data, and
take place between every town, cities, countries or even continent.
Introduction: I will deal with the notion Myths and Heroes. A hero can be a mythological
figure, a person who is admired for his/her achievements, a superhero, a role model or an icon.
Between 1954 and 1968, the civil rights movement sought to establish real equality of civil
rights for Black Americans by abolishing laws that established racial segregation and resulted
in lynchings. In these summary executions perpetrated by a group of people, or even a crowd,
the accused of real or imaginary crimes had no right to a regular trial, including the possibility
to defend themselves. In this context, a number of orators emerged, among whom Protestant
pastor Martin Luther King, an apostle of non-violence, Rosa Parks, and Malcom X.
[...] However on the other hand, it is a bane for the new generation, that can discover new cultures and be much more aware of the situation of the planet. All of this points out the fact that maybe the duty of this generation is to repair the mistakes of the fromer ones as it can be seen with the recent young ecological movements initiated all around the world by Greta Thunberg. Nowadays, many people travel whithout even trying to discover and know other cultures As a matter of fact, tourists do not always really visit the country they spend their holidays in, but just the sightseeing spots. Change came on December when Rosa Parks, an African-American woman, refused to give way to a White passenger on the bus. [...] These experiences are made possible thanks to some financial help programs like Ersasmus (1989) CULTURAL OPENING Last but not least, the globalisation is synonym of a cultural opening of the popuation. As we can hear more and more on the TV and the radio, everyone is now a citizen of the world. We can no longer think only in term of countries because we all share the same planet. Every society in the world in now an mix of numerous cultures. In term of food first, even if each countries has its own specific meals, you can always find a pizza in Japan and suhis in Italia. [...] Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King's pacifism permitted Black Americans to be heard by the nation, notably by the politicians, whereas Malcolm X's strategy of violence gave them hope about their future. Nowadays even though segregation is over in the US, racism remains a problem. Fortunately, even if it can be slow or difficult, ideas are changing. The election of the president Obama in 2008 and his reelection in 2012 illustrates the hopes of all poeple aspiring to an equality for everyone. [...]
