In recent history governments have not always been the best judges when it comes to medical breakthroughs. Let's remember Germany nazi government sold Jewish girls to Bayer pharmaceutical group in order for them to try out new medicines. Nowadays medical breakthroughs are improving lives of the one with financial means and sometimes deteriorate the quality of lives of these living with less. [...]
[...] Should governments impose limits to medical breakthroughs ? Medical breakthroughs have always impacted human history positively and shaped and transformed our daily lives. Up until today, medical innovations have allowed us to drastically improve our life expectancy in most countries of the world. It's not only a matter of quantity but also quality, most medical breakthroughs impacted and are still impacting our quality of lives. Children and elderly have been benefiting the most of these medical breakthroughs. Vaccination, cancer treatments and so on feel to us as granted nowadays but they are the results of important medical research in most cases financed and encouraged by governments themselves. [...]
