So yeah like many people and millennials around the world Harry Potter holds a special place in my heart since the story has shaped my childhood with so many messages conveyed and lessons to be learned. Indeed, the characters from both the book series and later on the movies grew up as we readers, aged, getting richer and more complex as they went. [...]
[...] Even Harry, a proud Gryffindor used to take care of his problems on his own, learned over his time at Hogwarts that it's not a bad thing to ask for help when you need it. Last but not least, the story focuses on prejudices and how tolerance is the only path forward by shedding light on significant issues such as slavery depicted through the metaphor of houselves but also through the allegory of mudbloods. Indeed, the author uses many references from the French History of La Resistance under the guise of the Dumbledore's Army and mudbloods are a brilliant way to externalize the Nazi ideology given that their bashing is meant to embody the Jewish persecution during World war 2. Besides, no matter what your personality is, you shall belong to one of the four Hogwarts's houses whose mottos mirror the values that they cherish the most; knowing that the sorting hat chooses the house that means a lot to you instead of placing you where you might seem the best suited. As adults, we are guilty of type-casting children and teens, for example at the first sight Neville Longbotton might be perceived as socially and academically awkward and a clumsy character (therefore more like a Hufflepuff student).
