Trois documents sont utilisés : la chanson "How could you leave us" de NF, une enquête d'un historien sur l'évolution de la famille appelé Steven Mintz ainsi que le film "Litlle Miss Sunshine".

An historian, Steven Mintz has observed the difficulties of the modern american family. He says that we have todays two thirds of married woman or single working and we let schools out at 3 pm. Children are lonely, they do not have an adulte presence with them. It's not the ideal family what we can figure to ourself. [...]
[...] The poverty can have an influence on the child, especially in United States because they are next to the violence and can sometimes undergo it and make it undergo. Parents are working all the times to support all the family. There are also problems of drugs and alcohol. There is 27 millions of drug addicts in the world; there is 20 millions of drug addicts in the USA. And 66 millions are taking drugs excessively, are taking alcohol excessively or pills without any reasons. These numbers are talking by themselves. Children don't grew up in a healthy environment. It can causes troubles and disturbances on kids. [...]
[...] In Little Miss Sunshine, even if all the characters are different they can count on each other and they believe in each other with, for example, Olive and his brother' broken dream. The little girl comforts him and make him better. CCl : The impact of the family values under the child is huge because its influence him and make him become the person who he is now. Its can be a bad influence because of the absence of the parents or with the difficulties of the life but it can be also a positive impact with sharing beautiful moments together and take care of each other. [...] The death of his mom broke him emotionally and made the family burst. His childhood wasn't happy and ideal “You say you coming to get us then call'em a minute later just to tell us you not”. (You : his mom ; ‘em : psychologist) or “I'm in a room with a parent that I don't barely know” (his mom : a stranger but also his stepfather beate him).Moreover, he says that even if he was a little boy he could feel the suffering of his mom “I got this picture in my room and it kills me / but I don't need a picture of my mom, I need the real thing/ now a relationship is something we won't ever have / why do I feel like I lost something that I never had”.
