Le prétérit exprime une rupture par rapport au présent à la différence du présent perfect qui exprime un lien entre le présent et le passé.

J'ai fait un lit pour toi. (bilan présent : le lit est fait, tu peux rester.) À noter « Être allé » = have been ou have gone. [...]
