The decision makers of the plnet have so far been too soft on polluters ans have only come up with financial penalties for those who speed up global warming. Since penalties have become the price to pay to continue business as usual, the fight against climate change has stalled. Some countries have become aware of the impending danger and have turned to renewable, non-polluting sources of energy like solar cells or wind farms. [...]
[...] While hybrid vehicles may help to mitigate global warming, the never ending development of air transport is discharging even more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. So much so that the world seems to have come to the point when, to meet the demand, new, quasi-clean énergies merely come as a supplement to conventional fuels, instead of replacing them. Drastic measures should be adopted against superfluous comfort : namely huge SUVs, private jets or all types of enerfy-guzzling facilities should be banned or turned into zero-pollution items. [...]
