We have to list the ten most visited sites in a selected country according to a reliable source. So we have chosen the ten most visited sites, in France. Indeed, according to a report by Cyberestate for October 2004, among the 57 most visited sites there were more than 15 sites by written press. We think it is a good idea to analyze these ten sites in the same field. In the trend of free information, we wonder how these web sites earn money in spite of all the services they offer and why they do this. In the first part of our analysis, we will distinguish between free and commercial services or products of L'Equipe, Le Monde, Libération, Le Figaro, Le Nouvel Observateur, Le Parisien, Les Echos, L?Express, La Tribune et Le Monde Diplomatique. Then, in the second part we will highlight the other sources of income.
