This report aims to investigate the possibility of achieving the targets set in order to obtain a more sustainable design of my project which is a future factory. The mission is to reduce the environmental impact from buildings. Besides addressing the building's basic functional requirements, both passive and active strategies are incorporated into the design. The control of lighting in a built environment is an important aspect in the field of architecture and building. Hence, I attempt to explain the lighting systems and especially the day lighting aspects, lights selves and materials and light reflectance in my report.
[...] Approximate Values of Light Reflectance As shown in the table above, white paint is an excellent finish in terms of reflectivity. Using white paint as a finish for walls can provide for better illuminance in a building, which will contribute to the optimization of daylighting or artificial lighting within the building CONCLUSION In conclusion, in a well-lit, high-quality lighting environment, the biological, psychological, activity and environmental needs of the occupants are satisfied. Therefore, it is important to design the lighting system of a building based on the integration of the mentioned aspects of lighting. [...]
[...] Integrated design and Sustainability 1. INTRODUCTION This report aims to investigate the possibility of achieving the targets set so as to obtain a more sustainable design in my project future factory). The mission is to reduce the environmental impacts from buildings. Besides addressing the building's basic functional requirements, both passive and active strategies are incorporated into the design. The control of lighting in a built environment is an important aspect in the field of architecture and building. That's why I chose to explain in my report the lighting systems and more especially the daylighting, lights selves and materials & light reflectance LIGHTING SYSTEMS a. [...]
[...] Exterior shelves are generally more effective shading devices than interior shelves. A combination of exterior and interior shelves will work best in providing an even illumination gradient. For maximum benefit, perimeter lighting should be controlled by photo-sensors, with lighting zones appropriate to the particular installation. Section through exterior wall showing light shelf : This section indicates daylight bouncing off light shelf onto ceiling, diffusing light throughout the space. Architectural light shelves have been proven to reduce the amount of artificial lighting in a building. [...]
[...] Also, the purpose of effective daylighting is to reduce artificial energy consumptions, and thus reduced the heating loads in the building attributed by artificial lighting systems. The typical distribution of energy use for buildings is as follows : 50% electrical lighting heating and cooling others. Natural lighting that enters a window can have several sources : direct sunlight, clear sky, overcast sky, or reflections from the ground and nearby buildings. The light from each source varies not only in quantity but also in qualities such as color, diffuseness and efficacy. [...]
[...] Although light shelves are a very good design element. With today's development of Green Architecture, there is no limit to where light shelves can be used. Buildings using light shelves, giving them a modern appeal and increasing energy savings. Combination of external shade and light shelf Integration of lights shelves in my factory Additionally, it is possible to motorize the light shelf, enabling the angle of the shelf to be adjusted to make the optimum use of the available daylight.
