Our firm, West Coast Apparel, is the leading leather company and at the moment, is exporting in various English speaking countries as Canada or Ireland.
We recently brought the subject of expending our export of product to a BRICS's country, since nowadays the living standard gets better in China, there is a higher potential of consuming luxury goods. That is why we especially choose China for further market research.

This circumstance could allow us to enter the Chinese market more easily. [...] Political and legal aspects In 2005, in China, quotas and licenses requirements were removed. Later on, they adopted the “quarantine inspection before customs declaration”, which mean that all imported goods will be inspected at customs. Chinese customs have strict rules about the labeling and the packaging of goods, they need to meet special requirements otherwise they will be refused. For example, the description of the package along with the content and the specification, has to be written in Chinese. Both China and the USA are part of the Most Favored Nation (MFN) and of the World Trade Organization which grant them lower taxes for trades between members of those organizations. [...]
[...] Geographical and infrastructural aspects Most exports from the USA to China are made by plane or cargoes. The airports and ports that could be practical for us to use would mainly be the ones from Atlanta, San Francisco and Seattle in the USA. In China, we could use Zhengzhou and Tianjin‘s airports as well as Guangzhou and Shanghai's ports. Those means of transport are convenient since the distance between our state and China is not huge. When choosing a Chinese logistics provider company, we are recommended to be careful of small firms and we should, instead, choose a global logistics company with high IT potential. [...]
[...] Recommendation We should contact some logistics company as Schenker” or “international of Washington” to have some more information about transactions with clients, the way they operate and more importantly to discuss legal procedures and prices. Before confirming our decision, we should think of the fact that we will have to hire some more labor force, in order to check regularly if all procedures are being followed and respected in China. I think that we should set a meeting date to discuss this in more details. [...]
