A greenhouse protects plants from the elements. It maintains plants and vegetables at a constant temperature and allows them to grow in the best possible conditions. A greenhouse enables plants, vegetables, fruit or flowers to be grown in countries where the weather is not compatible. Our project is to export French agricultural greenhouses to Hungary. In order to make our project clearer and more easily exploitable, we decided to conduct a SWOT analysis. We wanted to identify the strengths and weaknesses of such a project and analyze the opportunities and risks of this plan. In order to be established in the best possible conditions, it is not just necessary to export our product, but also to provide a follow-up with the producers to develop their loyalty. It will thus be necessary to talk about our product and the numerous advantages offered by it. To do this we will need to establish ourselves in a country which has the required premises, warehouses and local staff who will know the market and its actors.
[...] A greenhouse creates the greenhouse effect (i.e. traps the sunlight through the transparent panels), but it can sometimes be heated artificially for all year production of plants in cold or moderately cold countries. Both the temperature and humidity must be controlled, particularly as the warm and humid atmosphere of the greenhouse can cause parasite or pathogenic problems in the plants (fungus notably) which modern agriculture strives to combat. Modern agriculture uses pesticides and organic farming uses natural products. Growing plants in a greenhouse is called “glasshouse cultivation”. [...]
[...] - Strong competition accelerates the consequent decline of the premium prices. - Increase of transformed organic products imported from Europe 15 (The Hungarian consumers used to import products before the Hungary development). - Subsidies are not available to all biological farmers: because of low financial resources, Hungary uses a candidate system. Not a very encouraging point in the development of this sector. - The Hungarian agricultural policy does not focus on organic farming. For example, Hungary prefers the development of integrated agriculture. [...]
[...] Distribution The Hungarian retail trade represented in billion Euro with a growth of per year. In the Hungarian market, there are five business areas: - Budapest and its suburbs, which includes of the population of the country; - The region of Györ (in the northwest), bordering with Austria and which is the most prosperous region; - The region of Miskolc and Debrecen; the zone of Pecs. To be established in the country, it is necessary to have good distributors. There are many opportunities in the domains of the farm and organic products. [...]
[...] The countries chosen For our project we have decided to export greenhouses from France to Hungary, with a viewto further developing organic farming in that country. Why France? Agriculture in France covers an extensive area and also France enjoys a favorable geographical and climatic situation. These factors explain why France is the first agricultural country of the European Union. The main productions in France are cereals (wheat, corn), sugar, wine, dairy products, fruit and vegetables, animals and meat-based products. French agriculture employs of the total working population. [...]
[...] This problem has slowed down the evolution of this agricultural sector. Opportunities: A better use of these biological resources could provide more opportunities for Hungary: - More possibilities to export to countries in the European Union (condition: a structured supply). Increasing the financial resources of the country. - Subsidies are higher for organic producers, the organic farming sector is growing in the agricultural market, due to the WTO (World Trade Organization) and the CAP (Common Agricultural Policy) reforms. The farmers can optimize their profits by selling more and more local products derived from organic agricultural production. [...]
