The travel industry is the first industry on earth with 1.6 billion tourists as estimated in 2020. Tourism presents at the same time opportunities and threats for biodiversity conservation. That is why it is important to promote new forms of tourism and to apply new principles for the actors of tourism as well as tourists. According to Goetschmann, tourism is 'the activity of travelling for pleasure.' This definition gives us the reason for travelling which is mainly pleasure. Tourism is evolving because our century is not any more a quantitative one, which means that mass tourism will not exist anymore. We need today, to protect our environment and cultures and the tourists are definitely aware of this problem. That is why sustainable tourism is an emergent market today.

[...] However, the island has been subjected to ongoing tourism development and now there are plans to build a light rail system in the north of the island. Many resources have already been exterminated such as some birds, insects, snakes which have suffered from the tourist invasion. First of all it is based on nature, where the main motivation for travelling is the observation and appreciation of nature as well as the traditional cultures prevailing in natural areas. Ecotourism is also supporting the protection of natural areas by generating economic benefits for host communities but also providing alternative employment and income opportunities for local communities. [...] It is obvious there is a need to research the carrying capacities of particular sites on which to base management decisions, and the target audience or market needs to be carefully considered. Eco-tourism does not cater for all and any type of tourist. This report was also written in order to explain my communication presentation. I am a manager of a communication agency located in Sydney. I am working for travel agencies in Australia. I am charged to develop a new type of advertising campaign in favor of ecotourism and to educate travellers to these new forms of tourism.
