My line of business is public transport and my goal is to launch the phenomenon of the public collective boat in Lyon in bringing another alternative of public transport in Lyon after the underground, the bus, the tramway and finally the vélo'v (free access to rent bicycles). This concept is not a real innovation for the city because in 1862 the district of the Mulatière with its docks and the Vaise' district with its warehouses, were linked by a line of omnibus boats. These fluvial shuttles carried around 4 million people per year between 1871 and 1905. Eventually this system of transport disappeared with the advent of new means of transport with tramways, buses and cars. A collective boat is a boat used for public transportation in cities with abundant water channels. Many cities, including New York City, Boston, Baltimore, Fort Lauderdale, London, and Tokyo have scheduled water taxis which operate like ferries or buses.
[...] So my first strategic objective is to convince the Lyon council and the Sytral trade union about the efficiency of my project and convenience for Lyon people. That is the reason why it will be better if my omnibus collective boat have not pollution impact on the Rhône and the Saône rivers thanks to a hydro- engine, thus it would be strategic to work with the competitiveness pole Lyon urban Trucks & Bus in trying to produce a clean collective boat. [...] Consequently, our service should be similar and take nearly the same time between stop stations; moreover the collective boats should be on time to satisfy customers. Finally, The Buyer price sensitivity is important that is the reason why our price should be similar of an underground or bus ticket ( 1.6 Euros) and with similar offers of the pass TCL which enables to take underground, bus, tramway and velo'v with the same seasonal ticket. There will have similar concessions for students, teenagers, unemployed and elderly people. [...]
