The city of Cabourg, in France is a well known tourism destination from a national and international point of view. It is mainly known for its typical architecture, its beautiful sea side geographical position, its literature legacy through authors as Marcel Proust, and for its famous Romantic Film Festival, held ever year in Mai. Cabourg is an important actor of the tourism industry in the north of France. In order to present the city, we will have an insight into its demographic, social and economical indicators. Afterwards, we will analyse Cabourg as a tourism destination, its competitors, its offers, assets, its opportunities and threats. We will also try to think of future development opportunities for the town and forecast eventual future management issues. Once we have presented and analysed the city of Cabourg as a tourism destination, we will compare it with one of its famous competitors, Etretat, in France. The city of Etretat, situated a few miles away is famously known for its exceptional geographical site. The two towns will be compared on the basis of their offer, image and positioning.
