The evocation of the word Martinique is magic, usually makes us think of white sand, cocktails and beautiful beaches. But Martinique isn't only this, this is also an island which is part of the West Indies, a French department with its own culture based on a colonial past, strongly based on West Indian Creole traditions. All the generalities of Fort de France are the same as the Martinique ones.

A fact is that racism and discrimination are still present in the isle, a (white descendants of business men) won't have contacts with metis, nobody will forbidden him to marry a black women but if he do so, he will be isolated from his own community and will never be accepted in her wife's one. [...] It's really a great and magic moment, there are thousand people on the beach eating some fried chicken, listening to the radio for there favourite team, dancing on some dance-hall .and drinking litters of rhum!!! An advice (conseil) for girls : don't stay alone!!! Diving (plongée sous-marine) : There are many places to do this sport in Martinique, you can do it in a club or by yourself but you need experience, diving in Martinique make you enter in another world, forget your stressing life, welcome to the paradise! You can approach many fishes; they are really fabulous, fantastic! That's unbelievable. During 30 minutes you loose the notion of time, space. [...]
