Canada, world, leader
It seems obvious that in the political matters Canada cannot be counted as one of the view most powerful nations. That's why it Canada can't pretend it be a world leader like the United States for example. As it is said by John Ibbotson in Why America has Barack Obama and Canada has Stephen Harper this could be explained by the its lack of foreign policy. Besides Canada has some difficulties to be recognized on the international scene because of his neighbor: the United-States. The country keeps on depending of them at it couldn't but count on them. Nevertheless it would be exaggerated to deny completely its place among the major countries as Canada belongs to the council of the G8.
