The American car market accounts for 16, 2% of the world's total car market but has experienced a decline in the total number of sales during year 2009 (Datamonitor, 2009). This means that many Americans have become dependent on public transport or other ways of moving across cities. However, public transportation are not always a facility available in many American cities and buses stops running after a certain point in the night or in a specific area making it hard for a cities citizens going to work among other thing.
Also, the decline in the American economy has made it impossible for many to afford a car causing the car industry to decline in sales.
For the past couple year's new green solutions have been developed and public transportation extended making it easier, for people without a car, to get around cities. Also, the fact of been environmental awareness and protect the environment from future damage has been a growing trend among consumers.
[...] The former Bush administration initiated policies towards tax cuts, fair minimum wage laws, social security schemes and trade liberalisation. The Obama administration is expected to follow the Bush administrations initiatives but by offering tax cuts to benefit around 150 million workers.
