Adidas is a company which has been in existence for the last 90 years. In this document I will quickly cover the key events of the firm and also its strategic activities and its international relations. Through this document we will understand how the firm has adapted itself since its beginning in Germany. This will help us analyze the background of the company and reasons for its success. In 1920: Adi Dassler makes his first gym shoes in Herzogenaurach near Nuremberg. In 1927: The first production plant is bought: "Dassler Brothers Sports Shoe Factory". In 1938: Adolf Dassler buys a second plant in Herzogenaurach. In 1949: Birth of the three strips logo (Adidas logo).
[...] Worldwide settlement[7] As an international company, Adidas is since 1959, settling abroad. It all began with Horst Dassler, the son of Adi Dassler, who wanted to develop its own branch. The Adidas empire has been spreading all around the world ever since. The firm has subsidiaries on almost all continents and the headquarters are based in Germany, in Herzogenaurach. Because when Adi Dassler began in his garage it was just a family business, just as Salomon. But the fact is that Adidas grew faster and stronger than the French. This is not the only acquisition of the group but we will try through this report to understand what has happened between theses firms and inside the group Adidas-Salomon AG. I must say that I did not get on the last index of Hofstede which is Long Term Orientation. It is only because I did not found the France's score on it. I did find the German one but in order to follow a strict comparison I made the choice not to speak about it. Of course all theses deductions are not fully trustable as it is not scores based on the companies themselves but their host countries. [...]
