Regarding to “The Corporation” movie, we can identify a list of 10 problems that business organizations are producing.
Corporations generate externalities:
Externalities come up because corporations cannot handle all the variables which impact on their processes but also their partners, their environment etc… Externalities can seem irrelevant or minor to the company that had created it but the impact is relative to what we are looking at. This is due to one of the first component of what is a corporation: a legal person who can act on this own. So how to consider what is right or not, what is fair or not?
Corporation can harm people, environment or animals:
This the direct effect of externalities because as externalities can be good, there can be also bad for the society, for people. For example, by getting rid of polluted water corporations can harm people who are using this water to live. Also this water goes down to groundwater and generate bacteria. There is a direct impact on animals too, because we feed them with that contaminated water. Some corporations seem to have no experience of guilt because when they are caught they don't even recognize what they have done and they continue to do it.
Balance between risks to be catch and benefices:
Corporations follow the rule of the less risk choice. If they evaluate that they will not be embarrassed with something they know wrong, they take the risk. Furthermore, if in the meantime they calculate that they will earn enough money before to be catch, they will probably take the risk too.
