Anyone can be touched by disability, following an accident or illness. Anyone can become disabled. A disability is all the difficulties encountered by people to react to a situation of life. Disability is not just people in wheelchair.
There are six different disability's groups:
-Motor disability: this is the set of disorders which can cause damage to the motor skills. There are people in wheelchairs but also people become unable to work, who have difficulties to move, to maintain or change a position, to perform a task;
-Visual disability which concerns the blind and visually impaired people;
-Hearing disability which concerns deaf people;
-Mental disability like autism;
-Intellectual disability: it is the difficulty to understand;
-Disabling diseases: it is respiratory, digestive, parasitic, infectious diseases like cancer, AIDS …
[...] Spain has set a threshold of in companies with over 50 employees, and the rate may reach in Italy according to company's size. There are no such obligations in Britain, the United States or the Netherlands, but incentives and anti-discrimination measures are implemented. [...] Conclusion To conclude, we can say that more and more companies are sensitive to disability. Many companies are seeking employees with disabilities, because the laws oblige them, but also because policies of diversity promote a new mindset. Indeed, welcome people with disabilities are a guarantee of enrichment for everyone: it fosters relationships, listening, mutual support among employees of the same team. Moreover, employees with disabilities are generally highly motivated by their work and loyal to the company. So they should not be seen as a burden but as an opportunity. [...]
