The groups have planned to organize an event which will involve taking a manageable number of students. (Here 20 students are considered to be an appropriate number), from the University of Glamorgan to Aberavon Beach, Port Talbot.
Vision
This group organizes this event in the aim to ensure people enjoy a day on the beach with activities and also to create awareness of beach ecosystems and their importance to the environment.
Mission
The group will try to create awareness of the beach environment by the way of fun, with activities like surf or volleyball in rapport with nature (sea, beach), educate a healthy lifestyle promoting with activities and educational material.
[...] Impact on the local economy and society will be minimal, but as there may be environmental damage due to litter and pollution we intend to make this event environmentally friendly, it will at least be a “leave-no-trace” event, but there is possibility of it becoming carbon neutral and about. Social Awareness and information about environment is good for local council's encouragement of environmental responsibility and they can support the project. It exist a possibility of disgruntled local residents, because they have habit of surfing this spot. Ecosurf will fill the lack of environmental education among university students. [...]

There are political considerations because it's in the scope of ecology. But also with an environmental and ecological role, the group using the event to educate participants, information and prevention, about the dangers of environmental damage and how keep the sea clean. The next step is to envisage the weather in the begin of February, and try to find the better appropriate day in mid of February. [...]

SWOT Analysis Strengths The event will join together Multi-ethnic people Strong marketing backgrounds planned, sharing and discuss opinion between members of the group, because staff has marketing skills with their studies. Participant will keep good time Good organization, task shares between organizers and planned Good ICT skills and good Presentation/Communication skills because students have habits to do it. Knowledge of environmental issues is important to educate and explain better as possible. [...]
[...] Threats The main threat is the weather because if the weather is bad, the event can be cancelled because without waves anybody can surf, and play volleyball under the rain is not nice. But is a general problem in events organized outside, it's a risk. Students are sometimes unorganized or have a low budget for extra-scholar activities. And maybe they are not interesting by ecology and environment. The dependence on other companies, for example to transport or rent surf boards and other equipment Possibility of hostile members of local community, they can don't like the fact of other people come surf their local spot.
