How to deal with Russia? It is the major issue for French companies which are trying to expand in this country. How to understand its way of doing business, how to behave with the Russian businessmen? To be able to create a real commercial link with Russia today, it's necessary to understand and be familiar with its history, customs and basic values. I will thus compare the basic values of Russia and France, trying to point on the differences. I will then explain the history of economic relations between France and Russia to understand the previous relationships of these two countries. The comparison of historical cultures between transitional Russia and France highlighted their cultural differences. Now that the Cold war is over, the Iron Curtain disappeared and Russian society and culture has become open to western influences.
