The aim of this report is to critically evaluate the international strategy of a small or medium enterprise in the industry of Software Development. In order to achieve this goals the French company: ‘Axège' have been chosen by the author, as it tries to respond to the current structural issues of the health sector.
The literature review of this report traces the development of concepts related to internationalization process, in order to give a background to the relevant theories and of internationalizations in the software industry. At the same time, numerous academics and business managers have suggested that it exist a lot of way to internationalize a company such as creating partnerships, franchise systems or make direct or indirect exports.
The internationalization thesis states that small and medium companies (SMEs) can reach better growth and better profitability in developing their business in an international way. From this perspective, a thorough study of the Axège Company has been made, providing an understanding of the software environment and a critical analysis of the micro-environmental factors. At the same time the internationalization strategies of the organisation tried to be established. Hence, the main objective of this paper is to identify the particular strategies used by the Axège Company to internationalize.

In conclusion, the author raises some limitation on the theories of internationalization. Indeed, the author has noted that the development strategies Axège was not 'directed to one way' and that the theoretical models of internationalization process study in the literature review could not take into account all factors which are inherent to market fluctuations. The author therefore concluded that each process of internationalization can be a good solution when it is study, modify and adapt for a specific business or sector. [...]
