In this case of Siemens Spain, we can discover how a global company set up a knowledge management strategy to increase their benefits. This case is based on real information and explains how Siemens tried to find the best solution to share knowledge between all departments and also with all Siemens employees in Spain. As we see in this case, Siemens met with some problems and had to choose a way to fix them. In addition, the Siemens case shows us that what this company did to manage these changes is not the only way to ameliorate a company. I will try to express my opinion about these changes within Siemens Spain. In addition to this I will explain my opinion about this subject: what a company can do to manage and find the best way to reach an e-company point state.
[...] To start it is better to stay in the vertical way. It is easier to implement this kind of project step by step. By staying in the same company, they can fix some others problems. At this moment, they need to teach how to use this concept to employees. They need also to involve employees in this project. General implement after the success of the last steps, they have to create link between firms and employees without the same core business. [...]
[...] Only with this point knowledge is created and shared. This is a good point for the company to improve their knowledge. I think that it should be great to mobilize collaborators to use the concept. We cannot say that everybody should be use now but managers should be encouraging their employees to use it. This kind of communities cannot stay in life without new ideas. Moreover I think Siemens should not close any Cops because even if one person can use it, this person is helped and improve his level. [...]
[...] Do not forget that we are talking about company which seems more than employees all around the world. In this paragraph I will try to express main problems when a firm wants to set up a knowledge management process by sharing. I think that issues can come from technical, management, financial and evaluate aspect. The first point is the technical aspect. About the first point technical aspect, we can say that the IT department needs to have good ability to manage all employees' passwords. Moreover they need to invest in hardware to secure the system against bugs. [...]
[...] Recommendation To conclude this report about the Siemens Spain case I will try to answer at this case by following my ideas of this subject. I have presented you my opinion about this topic and now I can have an idea how to advice this KM team. Siemens Spain needs to follow Siemens AG but they have also power to manage their knowledge. By using Cops and intranet, they can share data and information. Employees can work together. Someone can help another. Knowledge is sharing. By using this network system, Siemens can meet some problems. [...]
[...] To conclude this report I am going to speak about the positive measure. I think that all Cops should be staying open. People can speak but also can share data. These data could be saved and f someone need that one year after for example, it should be great to find that after. Even if not a lot of knowledge is created, it is good if it can be spread.
