Dubai Land' is a huge entertainment and leisure complex, in terms of investment, size and attractions. More ambitious than any entertainment destination in the world, it intends to become one of the most visited places in Middle East and worldwide. The objective is clear, become a new leisure place in the world and attract over 15 million people per year while ensuring a quality experience for everyone, no matter the age, nationalities or activities they like. Confronted by the selling out of its oil wealth, Dubai needs to diversify its economy. Indeed, its oil reserves will dramatically lessen and finding a way to expand itself is the new stage for Dubai to face. Moreover, shareholders expect 15 % return on their 70 billion investments.
[...] If needed, they may hire more people, as we explained, even if it is more expensive it will enable to keep credibility to external parts. Core of the project is credibility. They can't allow themselves to lose it. Been late means have impact on Dubai land's brand around the world: first investors will be dissatisfied, but also partners like Universal studio. If Dubai wants to be a competitive destination, credibility is very important because in customer mind this colossal project can seem to be ephemeral. [...]
[...] How would you share it? And with whom? The strategy must be clear for everyone in the project from chairman to workers. Giving a meaning to employees is the key values of the project. If everybody understands the stake of it, it will be more committed. Staffs must be bound and information flow easily between all parts of hierarchy. An important issue of Dubai land project is the lack of experiment people. They hired a lot a young talent, but they couldn't cope with such enormous project. [...]
[...] Perdier has to focus on five main aspects: Construction United Arab Emirates' Government promised infrastructure for the project and this has also been promised to investors. Thereof without the project is not feasible for the simple reason that the project will be built outside the city in the desert and no access road or electricity is at present. Moreover Dubai land project fits in Dubai' vision. The purpose is to attract worldwide customer and to enables the country to diversify and develop its economy. It is in the direct interest of the state to deliver infrastructure on time, because the project depends on it. [...]
[...] This must endure all along the project's progress. It can be enhance by stories which is part of culture of Middle Eastern countries. It will be a good example of this French man adapted to local culture. And we should absolutely not forget the essence of Dubai Land understand customers' expectations to offer the better service and experience possible . We have understood what should be the content of the strategy. Perdier task can be resume in keeping the soul of project be learning and working in a multicultural dimension , this means also hiring people around the world, be sure that working method are similar, this is valaible for soul but also for planning. [...] And in order that they keep investing in next few years for different projects, investors must not be disappointed. It is in the interest of country, Dubai land project and investors themselves. In order to inform these key partners, information letters and meetings have to be scheduled for example to explain work progress. Creating a trusted relationship takes time and I will advise Perdier not to hide to anyone if there are some issues. Be frank if there are any delays or problem and explain them how they are going to cope with. [...]
