We can consider that management was born during the industrial revolution, since this revolution a lot of people have overcome the cultural, political, strategic, organizational barriers that constrain productivity. However, we can admit that management has seriously begun at the beginning of the 20th century with Ford and Taylor. Indeed, Taylor has improved a lot work methods that is why he is called 'the father of scientist management'. Henry Ford has created principles like mass-production manufacturing and standardization. He created revolutionary concepts like the division of labour in the assembly-lines where men do not move and materials are brought to them by technical machines. This concept is still used in the manufacturing world even if a lot of improvement have been done. Another concept has been very useful for management, it is the principle of quality control. Walter Shewhart created this principle, he thought that a good work environment is essential to increase the efficiency of work and the productivity.
