Innovative company of automotive lighting industry, automotive lighting (AL), daily develops strategies which play a leading role in insuring its competitiveness. For this reason, AL's purchasing division targets to reach Purchasing Excellence. To assure this target, AL's purchasing division makes Quality Management and Supplier Development its main priority. SQA resources are integrated into purchasing teams to manage the deployment of AL's SQA procedure, called ASQA. Involved in ASQA establishment, my main question is, 'what are the impacts of ASQA on AL OBP? From a corporate approach, I will evaluate if ASQA implementation brings the expected increase of efficiency, profits, quality, reactivity, and customer satisfaction.

[...] Internship Assignments Based at AL headquarters, I worked as Supplier Quality Assurance and Central Purchasing Assistant. My boss was M. Stéphane Vedie, Purchasing Vice President of AL, and my functional boss was M. Laurent Borch, Corporate SQA Manager. My main assignment consisted in implementing the Advanced SQA procedure of AL at corporate level. It consisted of two main activities. First, designing the following tools: AL SRE, composed of the Supplier Data Sheet and AL SRE questionnaire, which enables AL buyers to evaluate the supplier's risks before selection and business start; AL SEDS, which summarizes all data of Supplier Selection process and requires Purchasing Manager and SQA Manager agreement before integrating the supplier into the AL panel; AL Requirement File, which aims to contain all the required data, documents, drawings in order to send them to supplier with the RFQ; PPM & Incidents AL Reporting Tool, which permits AL to follow automatically the quality indicators of each AL plants; AL SQA Manual aims to define all the requirements in terms of SQA. [...] Step Requirements Review - Specifications and Drawing Review Requirements Review Step consists in reviewing all specifications and drawings defined during Requirements Definition Step in order to make sure that: Supplier has in hands, understood and analyzed AL requirements; Supplier's quotation is based on AL requirements; Supplier is capable to satisfy AL requirements; Supplier agrees with AL requirements and will apply them accordingly. During Requirements Review Step, AL and the supplier have to agree on the project feasibility; therefore it is necessary to obtain a positive output which insures supplier's understandings and planning feasibility. The main benefit of the Requirements Review Step in development phase is that the supplier can give advice or propositions to prevent AL of potential quality issues or difficult industrialization due to inappropriate design. [...] Product Quality In this thesis, Product Quality category is based on controlling the productive processes of parts and components. In a Supply Chain approach, Product Quality must be ensured along the chain until final customer. In achieving it, ASQA makes sure productive processes of 1st rank suppliers and 2nd or 3rd rank critical suppliers are capable to produce required parts and components according to Customer's expectations.
